Our Story

1989
Established sixteen years ago, then known as Connectivity Plus, the company provided consultancy in the building of wide and local area networks. With a strong technology foundation from the outset, Connectivity Plus adopted an impartial approach to building scalable, robust network infrastructures.

1993
On the back of the network reseller business, Connectivity Plus won a substantial bid with British Telecom’s Network Management Services. With nearly 1000 users across multiple sites BT demanded a more open approach to controlling these networks. Connectivity Plus became an integral part of the strategy; building and managing server farms whilst creating back-up and archive plans.

1995
BT embarked on a bid for the new National Lottery, competing against the existing lottery operator, Camelot. BT engaged with Connectivity Plus a second time to develop and deploy an order management system (AXIOSS Order to Service). Despite losing its bid for the lottery, BT recognized that the most valuable use for AXIOSS was by applying it to the wider and more immediate business problems as a more competitive and liberalized environment was creating a huge shift in customer behavior.

1996
BT commissioned Connectivity Plus to develop a solution which allowed BT Ignite to realize its ultimate aim: a single end-to-end view of the customer from a network management and provisioning perspective. Prior to this implementation, BT had been spending over £1.5m (per annum) in network changes. Afterwards, the ROI was significant.

1998
After building up the business within BT, Connectivity Plus decided that the time had come to look at other opportunities. The mission was to provide the same expertise and solutions to alternative providers under license from BT.

Within 4 months came an order from NTL for £5 million, with repeatable business for the second year, across divisions. A more product orientated version of an inventory management system (AXIOSS Service Inventory) and the AXIOSS Order to Service solution signaled the move to extend the offering to the open market.
